Welcome to your horoscope sweet trees and darling roots! This is a week where unexpected events and release build up to self reflective clarity of purpose. Can you breathe deep, satiating love into the tense crevices of your physical body in the wake of feelings of instability and concern about the sweeping changes that lay before you?

Tonight is the night for full bodied release! The moon is full in it’s home sign of Cancer and it’s asking you to think about what emotional attachments to the structures in your life that you can release. Even if you cannot free yourself of the expectations of others, can you release the attachment of your self worth to meeting the expectations of people and institutions in power over you?

The next 3 days are a potent time to conduct full moon rituals for release and renewal. Rituals help align our thoughts, feelings, intentions and actions with our desired purpose. Community building around rituals for intention setting supercharges the power of any one of our intentions. This is the reason behind my new monthly New Moon Manifestation workshops.

The next workshop for the New Moon in Aquarius is Sunday 1/30 and I’d love to see you there! Don't forget that Darling Root subscribers get automatic enrollment to all workshops including this one, as well as access to the backlog of all past workshops! For a one time signup, you can use code SHRUTREES to get 22% off! Find all the information and sign up at this link!

This is also a week to tend to your heart. While the moon is in heart-centered Leo this Wednesday, the sun moves into Leo’s opposite sign of future focused Aquarius. As much as we will feel pressure to stress about what is over the horizon this is actually a practice that can diminish our heart’s crucial messages for us. Heartache is on the agenda this week and while it won’t demand to be felt, you only stand to gain from tending to it anyway.

Chiron in astrology refers to a minor planet orbiting between Saturn and Uranus in our solar system. Also called the Wounded Healer, Chiron is a pain point illuminating our relationship to our egoic wound (also known in society as our masculine wound). In our natal charts, Chiron's location uncovers the ways we can reject or avoid this egoic wound in deference to power. If you don't know where Chiron is in your chart, check out the tutorial linked below.

Here is a breakdown of how Chiron operates in each house of astrology!

1st House - House of the body e.g. appearance, outward personality.

Chiron in the 1st house points to a persistent voice in our head that is telling us that no matter what, we are the problem.

2nd House - House of personal value e.g. cash on hand, possessions, values, skills.

Chiron in the 2nd house suggests we have a persistent problem with what we have. We may feel we don't have enough, we may feel really overwhelmed by how much we have. Either way, our negative self talk is telling us that we have a dysregulated relationship with what we have.

3rd House - House of inner and outer environment e.g. siblings, communication, learning.

Chiron in the 3rd house means that we may struggle with staying present in our immediate environment. It may not feel safe and we may look to escapism to cope with our unsafe feelings.

4th House - House of inner world, where you come from, story you tell about yourself e.g. home, parents, roots.

Chiron in the 4th house points to a struggle with being by ourselves. We really struggle with where we come from and we may feel this is a persistent that can't be solved .

5th House - House of passionate creativity e.g. romance, children, creativity.

Chiron in the 5th house points to a dysregulated relationship with what we have passionately created. We may feel we need external validation in order to feel confident in sharing our creations with others.

6th House - House of health, daily life and day to day functions e.g. health, work, self improvement.

Chiron in the 6th house means we have a dysregulated relationship with our sense of time and what gets us through the day. We may feel like our time doesn't belong to us, that it could never belong to us. Or we may be seeking external validation in the way that we spend our day.

7th House - House of one to one relationships e.g. friends, relationships, enemies, marriage.

Chiron in the 7th house points to a dysregulated relationship where we may feel particularly sensitive to criticism that we receive in our one to one relationships. Or we may be the criticizer in our one to one relationships, often finding blame outside ourselves.

8th House - House of taboo topics e.g. sex, death, regeneration, taxes, other people’s money.

Chiron in the 8th house has to do with a dysregulated relationship to these 8th house topics. We could find ourselves compulsively taking out too much money, gambling too much, or we could be on the other extreme of being too afraid of taking out money or gambling too much. We could have sex addictions or be abstinent for fear of sex related problems. This placement struggles with extremes regarding our energetic relationships with other people.

9th House - House of inner and outer exploration e.g. higher education, travel, religion.

Chiron in the 9th house could imply a traumatic relationship to religious institutions, higher educational institutions, maybe a fear of traveling. Or even the other extreme of an addiction to these things, where we have a compulsive relationship to keep putting yourself in those spaces to seek approval or security.

10th House - House of your highest trajectory in life e.g. career, status, purpose.

Chiron in the 10th house makes us especially sensitive to the ways that power structures in our society can enforce upon us. We can be striving for validation from the power structures in our life in order to feel like we have accomplished something in our career or life trajectory in general. Or we can feel really confident walking away from the validation of these power structures, disregarding the value of a career trajectory, life trajectory and instead find value in the minutia of the moment.

11th House - House of the social collective e.g. groups, goals, aspiration.

Chiron in the 11th house points to a deep seeded fear of showing up as our authentic self in the social collective. We can feel compelled to not be our authentic self in public facing communities because we fear that our authentic self cannot receive approval from the social collective.

12th House - House of the subconscious universe e.g. Solitude, transcendence, self sabotage, paranormal experiences, ancestors, punishing institutions, past lives.

Chiron in the 12th house refers to a dysregulated relationship with the ancestral lineage. This placement is often a sign of ancestral trauma and it can be a sign that we may fear the subconscious universe, fear our relationship to our dreams or ghosts. We may be seeking approval and feel a rigid sense of maintaining our familial lineage's status quo because we feel that is the only way to receive approval. Or we can find ourselves extremely obsessed with these 12th house topics. We can find ourselves ghost chasing or so wrapped up in the dream world that we have a hard time being present in reality.
